Yungeen Ace - Hood Anthem

Hip-hop artist Yungeen Ace has released a new visual for “Hood Anthem” as a tribute to his hometown. Directed by Montana Shot Ya, the video shows Ace driving through the streets of Jacksonville, Florida and takes viewers on a tour of his old stomping grounds in Marvin Park. The song itself highlights Ace’s rags to riches story and serves as an ode to his humble roots.
“The music game isn’t easy, but coming out of Jacksonville toughened me up,” Ace said. “I may have hustled my way out and made a name for myself, but my hometown made me who I am.”
“Hood Anthem” is the seventh music video that Ace has unveiled from his mixtape, Don Dada, which is currently available via Cinematic Music Group. In recent weeks, he’s unveiled visuals for “Recovery,” “Stretch Gang,” “Don Dada,” “400 Shots,” “Heartbroken” and “I’m The One.” Ace recently made his first foray into directing music videos, having co-directed the visual for “Recovery” as he works to expand his skillset in that area.
The Jacksonville native originally released Don Dada in mid-June and the project included a feature from King Von and production from Koncept P, Benjamin Lasnier, Mook On the Beats, Basshead Beatz and TnTXD, among others. The project is Ace’s first release since last year’s massive Step Harder, which debuted at #81 on the Billboard 200 and featured the likes of Lil Durk, Boosie, Blac Youngsta, Stunna 4 Vegas, Dej Loaf and No Cap and includes standout singles like “Step Harder” and “Bad Bitch (feat. Blac Youngsta).”
Ace has built his massive following through his authentic music and raw lyricism, turning to music to make sense of his pain. In June of 2018, he released his debut full length project Life of Betrayal, which he shortly followed up with Life I’m Livin’. 2019 also saw the release of Can’t Speak On It, a joint project with JayDaYoungan, and the EP Chloe, a passionate collection of tracks written and recorded for his girlfriend, as well as a performance at Rolling Loud Miami. Over the course of two years, Ace’s catalog has pulled in well over 500 million streams.
Ace’s story is chronicled in the documentary Through the Pain, which follows Ace on his journey to stardom while dealing with grief and pain. The documentary has racked up over 1.2 million views since its release.
