Terri Green’s Releases Latest Single “Two Wrongs Don’t Make It Right”

Terri Green, a music artist with a career spanning multiple genres was born in Washington, DC. She currently divides her time between Hamburg, Germany, and Columbia, Maryland. Her musical journey began in the dance and house music world, where she found massive success in the 90s and beyond. Performing under the name Terri B!, she achieved three Billboard #1 records and is a key member of the bands Avantgarde and 2 Eivissa. She was listed on the Billboard #1 Dance single and also #1 in both Italian and Spain top 100 radio charts as a dance artist. She also is an 11 time #1 indie soul chart topping artist between the US and Uk soul charts. Alongside grammy winner Randy Hall, Terri Green reached #28 in the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay charts in 2022. Terri Green was also a winner for the Indie Soul Grammy winner best female vocalist in 2022. In 2023, her single “Close the Door’ was also under Grammy consideration.
Her musical influences stem from an eclectic upbringing, guided by her father, Charlie Hairston, who encouraged a broad appreciation for different styles. Drawn to the sounds of Barry White, Donna Summer, Phyllis Hyman, Stephanie Mills, and The Staple Singers, among others, she developed a deep connection with soul music. As her career evolved, she found herself inspired by contemporary neo-soul vocalists such as Muni Long, Fantasia, Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Ledisi, and Lalah Hathaway. These influences have shaped her signature sound.
Her latest single, "Two Wrongs Don’t Make It Right," emerged from an unexpected creative process. Having just released a successful smooth jazz project, she initially planned to continue in that direction. However, a conversation with Marvyn Mack, CEO of the Urban Influencer Music Group, shifted her course. He suggested a collaboration with renowned producer Lorenzo Johnson, known for his work with Ledisi, CC Peniston, and Chuck Brown. Within days, Johnson sent a rough sketch featuring guitar, drums, and bass. Green instinctively began humming what would later form the verse, penning the lyrics in the moment. A simple phone memo to Johnson confirmed their instincts—it was a hit in the making. Marvyn Mack gave the green light, and years of strategizing and refining their approach culminated in a song that resonated deeply.
Green considers herself a storyteller first, and southern soul provides the perfect canvas for narratives that speak to real-life experiences. "Two Wrongs Don’t Make It Right" is about the complexities of an affair. The story captures the emotional turmoil of individuals entangled in a relationship they know must end but struggle to let go. With the guitar guiding her creative process, she translated raw emotion into lyrics that speak to mature audiences dealing with life’s complexities.
Her upcoming performances will bring her music to audiences in both the United States and the United Kingdom. She will premiere her single at Collective Encore in Columbia, Maryland, on March 8, 2025. Fans in Newcastle, UK, can catch her at The Pilgrim on March 20, 2025, followed by a performance at Soul Mama in London on March 22, 2025. These shows promise to showcase her signature blend of soul, storytelling, and authenticity, further cementing her place as a distinguished artist in the music industry.
