I have been doing my radio show, on and off, since 1996 and it always amazes me how I sometimes feel like I am late to finding certain artists. Like, I know a lot of music and a lot of dope amazing indie and signed artists but, once and awhile an artist's music will come into my world and I wonder how I had not ever heard them before. This next artist is someone who fits into the former category.
A 20-year journey in music requires passion and dedication and, based on the latest release from Demorne Warren called "The Process" (Do For Self Ent.), he has all of that and then some. I stumbled on his music and I am glad I did cause this brother from South Side Queens, NY has some straight fire.
The project came out on February 17, 2025 and gives us 17-tracks that will take the listener on a sonic and beautiful journey, both musically and lyrically. Several producers put their hands on "The Process", David Kennedy (Umi Says, Mos Def), Amadeus 360 The Beat King (Still World Famous, M.O.P.) each produced five songs and Gino Blak, Dr. Blum (Twenty One Pilots), Ant Bell, Bass Lewis held down the rest of the production.
Demorne is a throwback style emcee, one who knows and respects the past trailblazers of the "golden age" and shares that love thru his lyrics, rhyme style, and beat-construction.
I usually like to tell you a few songs off a project that stand out but, with this album from Mr. Demorne Warren, it all warrants a listen. Go get it folks, it is out now on Bandcamp.
