RONNIE BELL RELEASES NEW SINGLE "PRETTY LADY"
Ronnie “Soul Music” Bell is a native of Walker, Louisiana. He began singing at the young age of five at his home church - Gloryland Church of God in Christ. Despite the obstacles that Ronnie faced during his youth, he was able to find solace in creating music that quickly became popular due to his extraordinary vocal abilities. By the time he was fifteen, Ronnie was selected to become a member of George Perkins and the Voices of Harmony, founded by his great uncle George Perkins. His stint there led him to join Kenneth Mitchell and the Voices of Praise and later be included in the Top Dog Finals of the Apollo Original Amateur Night.
As his talent grew, so did his exposure. Between 2004-2011, Ronnie joined the world-renowned Southern University Concert Choir which was directed by the great Charles Lloyd Jr. Under his direction, he experienced many successful performances as part of the Bayou Classic Battle of the Bands in the New Orleans Superdome as a guest soloist of the Southern University Marching Band. He’s
also opened up for music artists such as The Manhattan's, Denise LaSalle, Lenny Williams, Sir Charles Jones, Patti LaBelle and numerous other known musicians.
Ronnie has easily become a Southern Soul fan favorite between Texas and East Coast region due to his smash single, “Cotton Candy”. His ability to captivate an audience and engage a crowd led to him being an addition to the star-studded Blues is Alright tour since 2019. Ronnie has great plans for the future of his career, he says, “I am motivated and determined to share my passion for music in every city I’m in and every person that attends. Southern Soul is not just something I do, but it’s in me. I live it, breathe it and make it my all with every ballad I write and
tune I let flow from my lungs. It is indeed fair to say that this is the love of my life.”
Ronnie Bell Gives Back to the Youth in His Hometown
The Walker, Louisiana native celebrated his 40th birthday by giving back to the community recreation center that helped to shape his youth. Southern Soul artist, Ronnie Bell, once again shows his appreciation for the community that raised him by spearheading the funding for the recreation center the locals know as, Club Outreach. For over 30 years, Club Outreach has provided summer camp programs, resources for the elderly, supported families in times of need, and served as a hall for community events over the years. However, due to its long service, the building and grounds are in need of major upgrades and repair. This did not go unnoticed by Ronnie Bell, which prompted him to act. As Ronnie Bell closed a very busy first half of the year performing around the country, he made the decision to spearhead restoration of Club Outreach so that the community resources could begin again in Walker.
“I felt like it was something I needed to do. I have many memories of family reunions, summer camps, stage plays, and pickup games at the basketball courts. So I called on a group of concerned peers and past camp participants to help make sure the roof repairs get done. Just because life and opportunity caused many of us to move from our hometown, we shouldn't forget our foundation” Ronnie said.
The roof was the first step for this restoration. Currently, the baseball field needs dirt work, basketball court needs resurfacing, and the floors need to be replaced. The owners are asking for any help towards meeting these goals.
