Meet J.O.T. aka GRANDE GATO
IT ALL BEGAN AGAIN in 1996 - the year that J.O.T. aka GRANDE GATO aka JAMES O. TERRY JR. turned his life over to CHRIST JESUS.
So J.O.T. decided he wanted that to reflect in his music. That same year, J.O.T. officially started up his Christian-based company, SOUL-FULL PRODUCTIONS.
With three different subsidiary branches of SOUL-FULL PRODUCTIONS (Clothing line, Literature and Record label), J.O.T. always believed it was
important to not get comfortable in the ministry and so he continued to grind and work hard for CHRIST. As the first artist to come out on his independent record label, J.O.T. RECORDS, J.O.T. put out an impressive body of work. He released eighteen CD albums, four CD singles, and seven 12” vinyl records including NORTH CAROLINA STREET HEAT Presents, BUENA VIDA (the Spanish-language vinyl) and many, many more.
J.O.T. also has a music video “PRESS ON” which was shot near his alma mater NC STATE. “PRESS ON” even aired on the popular BET Sunday Morning Gospel music video segment.
J.O.T. has also authored five books including I COULD HAVE GOTTEN REVENGE BUT I DIDN’T, PRESS ON (MAKING A WAY OUT OF NO WAY) and I HAVE A STORY TO TELL.
In addition to music and books, J.O.T. has designed pieces for his clothing and leather sneaker line called SOUL-FULL WEAR. He also started up the female division of his clothing line, LADY SOUL, and he designs those pieces with his wife Ms. Crystal.
J.O.T. aka GRANDE GATO aka JAMES O. TERRY JR. continues to encourage and give both young and old people hope, and lets them know that with faith and perseverance the impossible can become possible.
