Lyne Nsongo asks her sisters to embrance their queenship on Royal

The best music can blur those lines between secular and sacred. Often this happens an artist uses the religous imagery or words to express feelings of natural love and attraction to someone or something. Some performers use arrangements that borrow from church musical traditions to sing songs about love and romance.

Belgian Congolese singer songwriter Lyne Nsongo puts her on unique spin on the fusion of sacred and secular traditions on her new song "Royal" and the accompanying video. Nsongo gives "Royal" a ultra-modern bouncy, trap inspired arrangement that features atmospheric sythensizers. Her vocals move from rapid fire hip-hop inspire flow to honeyed and soulful with range that would be right at home in a scantified church.

"Royal" has a message of self-love and knowing one's self-worth that comes from the secular world of therapy as well as the bible. Right from the beginning, Nsongo gives the women of the world a message that one who made them created them perfectly. That is a divinely inspired message, and the video shows Nsongo delivering that message setting that mixes tradtional with non-traditional. She is in standing in front of the altar dressed in a suit and standing on her skateboard. Nsongo and "Royal" are reminders that the truth comes at us in unexpected ways.
