Lalah Hathaway Releases Eighth Studio Album, 'honestly' (Stream)
Five-time Grammy Award winning artist and 2017 Soul Train Award nominee Lalah Hathaway officially releases her highly-anticipated eighth studio album honestly today (Nov. 3). The new album invites listeners to the join the renowned R&B artist on a personal journey that is intimate, disruptive, and most importantly, introspectively honest.
The album follows the songstress’ two hit singles “i can’t wait,” which soared on the Billboard R&B charts, along with its high energy music video that premiered on BET in September, and titular track “honestly,” to the excitement of fans and the validation of notable industry juggernauts including The Internet’s Syd, Terrace Martin, Tiffany Gouché, 9th Wonder, Faith Evans, Raheem Devaughn and more.

To celebrate the release of the powerful new album, Lalah invites fans to experience a fully immersive pop-up art gallery taking place in Venice’s iconic Abbot Kinney district in Los Angeles. Curated by the singer herself, Lalah will present an impactful new art gallery, entitled #RealMusicRebels: The Exhibition, as an intimate journey and ode to her latest project. Reflective of the socially-conscious themes and figurative imagery explored throughout honestly, the gallery is an exploration of Lalah’s personal approach to art and activism, featuring a variety of thought-provoking images and videos including exclusive protest footage and shots from Lalah’s poignant “honestly” music video. Bringing the gallery together is a massive mural on the exterior of the building, created by popular muralist, #TheArtOfTheChase, featuring Lalah’s newly-introduced sprite who made her debut on the cover of honestly.
In tandem with the album’s release, Lalah will intimately preview her new music in San Francisco and Los Angeles with in-store fan performances followed by a seven-city The Honestly Tour, kicking off in January 2018. Also part of the tour Lalah is inviting fans to submit singing videos on social media to win a chance to open for her during each stop of her tour. Using the hashtag #IWantToOpenForLalah, the response has already been overwhelming with thousands of fans posting their videos online.
