DeeAnn DiMeo, known simply as DeeAnn on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, is a vocalist and songwriter who blends jazz, blues, soul, and R&B into a sound that's both timeless and fresh. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, and now based in Grand Island near Buffalo, DeeAnn's musical journey has evolved just like her life. Originally starting out in the pop genre, DeeAnn took a step back from the spotlight to focus on her family. But when she returned, it was with a renewed passion and a deeper connection to the styles that let her truly express herself. Drawing from legends like Barbra Streisand, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, and Ella Fitzgerald, DeeAnn channels a vocal artistry while putting her own soulful stamp on every performance.
Her latest single, ‘Simply Beautiful', was released on April 4, 2025, and serves as a lush introduction to her upcoming album slated for release in June. The track was recorded in Nashville, TN, at Station West Studio and Highway 70 Sound, under the expert production of guitarist Ted Perlman. Surrounded by a cast of Nashville musicians—including Jonathan Nixon on bass, Jody Nardone on B3 organ and piano, Brian Czach on drums, and background vocals by Moe Loughran and Damien Horne—the session captured an energy that DeeAnn describes as nothing short of sublime.
The inspiration to record 'Simply Beautiful' came from both her producer and a close friend, and it quickly became a heartfelt project. The emotion behind the song is one of love, and the simple joys of being in love. DeeAnn hopes the track offers listeners the same sense of peace it gave her during the recording process and reminds them that love is always within reach. While a live performance hasn’t yet marked the single’s debut, DeeAnn is planning a release party in Buffalo, NY, this fall. The date is still to be announced, but it promises to be a night of music and emotion.
