Did Mariah Carey Redeem Herself At 'New Year's Rockin Eve 2018'?

Round two: Mariah Carey got a chance to redeem herself last night when she got to perform for a second time on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Truthfully, she doesn't need to prove herself (as she's a living legend in the industry), but her effortless vocals of yore have since seemingly needed more effort in live performances.

As you'll recall, her performance for NYE 2016 had many people wondering if the vocal legend was past her prime. But MC took to the bitter cold in NYC to try one more time to detract the naysayers who wrote her off.

Wearing a nude sequin gown, plenty of diamonds, and a fluffy white boa, Mariah sang two of her classic power ballads, "Vision of Love" and "Hero." She started off shaky (nerves, perhaps), but managed to hit enough high notes to shut out the naysayers despite the blistery weather conditions.

Between songs, Mariah looked around for the hot tea she was promised. "Oh, it's a disaster. Okay, well, we'll just have to rough it. I'm going to be like everybody else, with no hot tea," she stated.
